Results are the only valuable metric
I don’t know about you, but I have noticed too many Business Owners focus on To-Do Lists when they should be focusing on Results from these To-Do Lists.
Hear me out.
Achievements are more important than activities.
You can be very busy and deliver nothing. We all know that and yet we still keep ourselves more busy than necessary and as a result, we do not perform as well as we should.
We all suffer from this.
And that is fine as long as we are aware of it.
You see, when we focus on To-Do Lists we instinctively think of how busy we are going to be and it soon feels overwhelming. That cannot be a good thing.
When we focus on Results our brain triggers differently (don’t ask me why – I’m no neuro-surgeon – I just know it does).
Our brain starts imagining and visualising the OUTCOME which will result from those activities and no longer on the OUTPUT.
And that makes the whole difference.
So, let me invite you to apply the following exercise next time you start a To-Do List.
Instead of writing down Activities, write down the Result of those activities.
(instead of writing “produce a marketing brochure”,
write “Marketing brochure produced“),
(instead of writing “launch a new product”,
write “Product Launched“).
It sounds crazy I know, but trust me, the world changes when you start thinking that way and you will soon wonder, “Why have I not been doing this before?”.
And if you have been doing this for years, let us know the results in our Leadership Destiny Group where we talk about these sorts of things.
If you are not a member yet, come and join us.
We talk more about this in our Leadership Destiny group where leaders share their experiences in view to constantly improve and grow as a result.
See you there.
